We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) pandemic, and are in regular communication with our city and county agency partners. At this time, there are no scheduling alterations planned for our upcoming events. We will continue to monitor this rapidly changing situation with the direction of local and state officials, and any updates to our events will be posted on our website and communicated through as many other all channels possible. There will be no change fee if the event is canceled due to COVID - 19 cancellation.
The 2020 St. George Marathon entry cap is 4000 Marathon runners and 3000 Mini Marathon runners.
Opens on April 1, 2020, 12:01 am MST and will remain open until June 30, 2020, or until we have reached our cap of 4000 Marathon runners and 3000 Mini Marathon runners (whichever occurs first).

Online Registration will be available here with a processing fee, April 1st. If you are unable to register online, we will e-mail an entry form to you. Consistent with the marathon running industry-standard all entry fees are NON-refundable. However, this year we will offer transfers and deferrals with a $5.00 processing fee to change (Change Fee). Below is our schedule with deadlines.
Transfers: September 1st
If you choose to transfer your entry to another person, you are responsible for arranging payment for the entry with the person you are transferring it to. To transfer distances, the distance you wish to transfer to must not be sold out. You can upgrade or downgrade prior to September 1 (while spots remain). You will be required to pay the current cost difference. In addition, you will pay a $5.00 USD change fee. If necessary, you can transfer between events and to another person at the same time. Use the deferment process to transfer to next year's event.
IMPORTANT: This is the ONLY authorized way to transfer your entry to another person. Bib numbers are NON-transferable. The selling and/or giving away of a St. George Marathon bib number is not allowed and will result in the disqualification of both the original bib owner and the runner using the bib number. Both runners will be prohibited from participating in the St. George Marathon for a minimum of two years.
To transfer your entry, log into your Participant account. Once logged in, select the ‘Transfer Request’ button on the dashboard screen and follow the prompts.
Deferrals: September 15th
Deferring allows you to receive a credit that you can apply to next year's event. Credit will be given for the amount paid minus the change fee ($5). When you defer, you will receive an email with a code and a link that you will use to redeem your credit. You are not automatically entered for next year's event. You will need to register for next year's event using the link provided when registration opens. Your deferment credit may only be used once and will expire within two years.

How to Switch, Transfer, or Defer 2020 Marathon Registration
Refunds: Entry fees are non-refundable. Unless those who are on active military duty and are deployed for service (a copy of deployment orders is required).
MARATHON LOTTERY: Does not apply. Registration is first-come-first-serve till our caps are met.
It is the primary goal of the St. George Marathon to ensure a safe event for all involved. We will not expose participants or the community as a whole to undue risk as a result of staging our event. There may be times when we feel it is unsafe to continue with the race. While we recognize the aspirations and commitment of those that have entered the race we will make decisions about the race based on the safety of our as a whole. Furthermore, if the community resources are threatened we will act to protect them from unnecessary stress.
Specifically, when weather or other physical conditions present a danger to participants as a whole, we will maintain the right to cancel the race. Less threatening conditions could result in an alteration of the course or race length to promote a more safe result for the participants. These conditions will be recognized as “an act of God” and will not result in the refunding of race entry fees or future race credits. The staging of a race of this magnitude results in substantial expense prior to the actual race itself. Thus, in the event of a forced cancellation of the event, it is very likely that the financial impact on the race would not be any different than if the race was held without compromise.
Severe thunderstorms with the threat of lightning or severe heat that are forecasted to continue throughout the day of the event may result in cancellation of the event for all participants.
In the event that a cancellation or alteration will take place, St. George Marathon will advise participants through various traditional and non-traditional media channels on a timely basis.
There will be NO REFUNDS for cancellations on any part. This policy will take IMMEDIATE effect upon the completion of your registration.
WASHINGTON COUNTY, UTAH RESIDENTS:
Residents of Washington County will no longer receive guaranteed entry status. All runners including Washington County residents will be required to complete online registration before our cap of 4000 Marathon runners and 3000 Mini Marathon runners has been reached or by June 30th, whichever comes first. If you miss the registration process the option to register through one of our Official Marathon Charities will be available to you.
10+ YEAR CLUB MEMBERS:
Over 1,812 runners have become members of this prestigious club by running in ten (10) or more St. George Marathons.
10 Year Club members will receive a guaranteed entry into the St. George Marathon as long as you complete your online registration by May 31st, regardless of the cap of 4000 Marathon runners being reached prior to that date. You will be able to register with the discounted price determined by the number of years you have completed the St. George Marathon. This option is only available for the full marathon distance. This club will only continue for the full distance marathon as a way to celebrate your great accomplishment and dedication to St. George Marathon! We are inspired and excited for each person who has participated this many years, and we would like to honor each one of you. (If you miss getting your discount by May 31st and also miss the $125 late registration deadline of June 30th, the option to register through one of our Official Marathon Charities may still be available to you.)
STG ON THE RUN:
Each year, the St. George Marathon donates one free entry to 30 races throughout Utah. Each race has the freedom to award the entry as they choose. Participate in our STG on the RUN program and win a spot from our 30 participating smaller races.
OFFICIAL MARATHON CHARITY PROGRAM:
Official Marathon Charities are allocated a certain number of entries to accomplish their purposes. Marathon runners who did not register before our cap was reached or by the deadline of June 30th, can donate funds to one of the charities and be eligible to receive a guaranteed entry registration code into the 2020 St. George Marathon (you will still need to pay the registration fee). Please contact your charity of choice directly for donation fees and further details.
Group registration no longer applies. All runners must register online before our cap of 7000 runners is reached or by the deadline of June 30th, whichever comes first.
Once we have reached our cap of 4000 Marathon runners and 3000 Mini Marathon runners and registration closes, a list of all registered runners will be posted on the website for verification. At this time if your name does not appear on the list please email email@example.com with proof of registration and payment.
