Deferring allows you to receive a credit that you can apply to next year's event. Credit will be given for the amount paid minus the change fee ($5). When you defer, you will receive an email with a code and a link that you will use to redeem your credit. You are not automatically entered for next year's event. You will need to register for next year's event using the link provided when registration opens. Your deferment credit may only be used once and will expire within two years.

FUTURE MARATHON DATES:

October 2nd, 2021

October 1st, 2022

October 7th, 2023

If you choose to transfer your entry to another person, you are responsible for arranging payment for the entry with the person you are transferring it to. To transfer distances, the distance you wish to transfer to must not be sold out. You can upgrade or downgrade prior to September 1 (while spots remain). You will be required to pay the current cost difference. In addition, you will pay a $5.00 USD change fee. If necessary, you can transfer between events and to another person at the same time. Use the deferment process to transfer to next year's event. IMPORTANT:  This is the ONLY authorized way to transfer your entry to another person. Bib numbers are NON-transferable. The selling and/or giving away of a St. George Marathon bib number is not allowed and will result in disqualification of both the original bib owner and the runner using the bib number. Both runners will be prohibited from participating in the St. George Marathon for a minimum of two years.  To transfer your entry, log into your Participant account. Once logged in, select the ‘Transfer Request’ button on the dashboard screen and follow the prompts.

Based on further conversations with and direction from local authorities, including medical, health, and safety leaders in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in the best interest of our St. George marathon community, the St. George Marathon and Mini Marathon will not take place in 2020. In what has been a continually evolving and challenging time globally, we recognize that this may come as a disappointment, but assure you that our commitment to our athletes and the success of our sport is stronger than ever. Each participant will be receiving an email with further information. If you have additional questions, please contact marathon@sgcity.org.

Historically, we have not given out any transfers, deferrals, or refunds. With the current situation this year (2020) that we are in, we will allow refunds if the marathon committee and City Council cancel the race due to COVID-19 if your registration allows. We are accepting transfers and deferrals and will encourage many runners to be involved with us in our future years. But, we do understand the current circumstances and are willing to work with each of our runners.

Update June 24th, 2020

We wanted to update everyone as we know the current national standard is continuously changing. We are still monitoring the situation closely and working with our local, state, and public safety officials.

Since the onset, this continues to be a very fluid situation, and we are closely monitoring our state guidelines as well as neighboring states as they begin to reopen and the guidelines they have set in place. While we understand the benefits that this event has on our community, we also think it is important to be responsible members of our health community.

We recognize this is not just our event as organizers, it’s the thousands of those who are already registered as well as those who have participated over the past 44 years. Keeping that in mind, we would like to hear from you. If interested, we welcome you to complete the following survey regarding the 2020 race as it relates to the pandemic: St George Marathon Pandemic Survey

We are working every day to make sure we understand the external factors and what they could mean. We are preparing to ensure that we can safely hold the race or be able to provide each runner unique options outside of our standard event policies in case we are not able to hold it.

As many of you have begun your training journeys this past month and are seeing some other fall events be canceled, we know that you are looking for answers as to what our race will look like.

We look forward to October and are very hopeful we will celebrate our 44th year with each of you and the bonds we share through this great sport.

For now, we want to encourage each of you to stay safe and stay motivated.

Update May 1st, 2020

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) pandemic, and are in regular communication with our city and county agency partners. At this time, there are no scheduling alterations planned for our upcoming events. We will continue to monitor this rapidly changing situation with the direction of local and state officials, and any updates to our events will be posted on our website and communicated through as many other channels possible. There will be no change fee if the event is canceled due to COVID - 19 cancellation.
